What to put on a landscaping invoice

  • The property address and a summary of the project
  • Materials by quantity: plants, mulch, stone, soil
  • Labor and equipment charges
  • Debris removal or dump fees
  • Any plant warranty and its conditions (watering, for example)
  • Your business name and how to reach you
  • The client's name and address
  • A unique number and the date

How to use this template

  1. Enter your business details once. This browser remembers them for next time.
  2. Add the client, the date and the job details.
  3. List each item on its own line. Tick “Taxed” for the lines you charge tax on, and enter your tax rate.
  4. Choose “Download PDF or print”, then “Save as PDF” in the print window.
  5. For the next job, choose “New invoice”. It keeps your business details and moves to the next number.

Tips

  • List materials in the units you bought them (cubic yards, flats, pallets) so the client can compare quotes.
  • Number every document in order and never reuse a number. It makes your records easy to follow.
